The Cultural Innovation Fund is our second stage commissioning process offering opportunities to emerging cultural practitioners with exciting ideas to work with young people across the North East.
The Cultural Innovation Fund continues NE-Generation’s investment into the cultural sector in the region by promoting quality creative opportunities for young people to participate in cultural activity.
The selection of the projects was made by a panel of 7 young people from across the North East with 5 adults with relevant expertise and supported by staff from the Regional Youth Work Unit. The process comprises of a number of stages intended to develop the ideas from concept to reality, supporting less experience applicants.
The £100,000 Cultural Innovation Fund will support the following 6 projects...

As well as receiving funding, the successful applicants will have training and mentoring support throughout the duration of their projects, this will be tailored to the specific development needs of the individuals involved.
The whole process has been overseen by independent evaluators who are documenting the journey of so an assessment can be made of the contribution this opportunity makes to the practice of the practitioners as well as the young involved.
